Why not have a listen whilst reading about our inspiration below:

About the Album

The Guardians Guild album came about after a traditional Guardians Guild get together. After an excess of beer and banter, we decided to put music to the various characters that make up our first seven founding members and, of course, our enthusiastic prospect.

Each song tells a story. Once upon a time…

Track 1 – Welcome Weary Warriors

As you listen to The Guardians album, you will hear the phrase “warriors of work” mentioned fairly often. This has become one of many themes that The Guardians Guild stands to uphold. We may not weild spears and sheilds, but our battles are real. Every day brings new challenges, especially when you’re coping with depression or other mental illnesses. Our first track is a simple introduction but serves as a reminder that we all need somewhere to lay down our weapons and rest. Welcome weary warriors to The Guardians Guild.

Track 2 – The Garrison Guild

The song that started it all. Crafted in a hot tub in Wales (hence the hot tub references in the lyrics!), this song quickly became the anthem of The Guardians Guild, trumpeted through the Garrison’s speakers at every guild meet!

Track 3 – The Wolf of The Garrison Guild

This track is dedicated to our Sgt At Arms. Rich is an amateur wrestler who goes by the persona “Hudson Wolfe”, this track actually serves as his entrance music.

Track 4 – Wisdom in the Flame

This song describes the guild’s Wise Man. A master at pub quizzes and a font of movie knowledge, James has won the lads many a quiz night against the Guardian Girls!

Track 5 – The Warrior’s Refuge

The Warrior’s Refuge tells the story of our guild President, Darren. After being seriously injured at work, Darren built The Garrison from the ground up with help from our Vice President, Jim. You can read the full story on our BIOs page.

Track 6 – The Quartermaster’s Call

Dedicated to our calloused-handed Quartermaster, Dan. Dan is the handiman of the Guild. Builder, painter, decorator, chippy, sparky… You name it, Dan can do it. A massive thrash metal fan, this song epitomises our Quartermaster.

Track 7 – An Ode to the Ale

Inspired by many a night in The Garrison. Good times, good beer, good banter, and good mental health. This song is an ode to the good times and is everything we want to share with others.

Track 8 – Van Monkey’s Roar

A track written for our fearless Road Captain, Carl. Carl runs a van rental company called Van Monkey. Don’t ask… Just enjoy the song, trust me, it’s a banger.

Track 9 – Early Bird

Our Vice President Jim has earned the title “Early Bird” due to his habit of drinking far too much far too quickly and ending up in bed by about ten past ten! Yes, there’s a reason why the clock features in our logo…

Track 10 – The Prospect

We couldn’t put an album together without an honourable mention to our treasured Prospect! Our youngest member by some considerable way, Archie is nearly old enough to legally drink, at which point he’ll earn his patches and become a fully fledged member of the guild.

Track 11 – Moustache Maestro

This track is dedicated to Rob, our Master of Coin and bearer of the holy moustache. Rob’s moustache is a true sight to behold and worthy of a song all of its own!

Track 12 – Last Orders

Probably the most prominent song of them all. Whilst our glorious pub in a shed cannot be open all the time, the guild are ALWAYS there for each other. Even when it’s closing time at The Garrison, the Guardians Guild is always open.

So, take this album with you and whenever you feel down, stick one of our tracks on and remember; strong men stand together, brave men speak up.
